Peggy Rubin encourages us to view our lives from the perspective of a theatrical performance, incorporating many different characters, and audiences. We are the primary actors in the play of our own lives. We do this through vocal and physical expression, changing our point of view, and confronting conflict, all in this precious moment of now, exactly as in the theatre. She says, "I understand and honor the traditions that say the present moment also holds the codes for the future. It is really joyful to be totally aware of the present moment. This is one of the most potent things about the theatre itself. It is one of the things I draw on to ask people to look at in their lives. What is happening in this moment and to be aware of it." Bio

Peggy Rubin is Director of the Center for Sacred Theatre in Ashland, Oregon. Her professional theatre career includes, working in New York and Los Angeles, and 14 years as staff member, actor and education and public relations director for the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. Since 1986 she has participated in Jean Houston's world-wide multicultural workshops, as her principal associate, as well as her U.S. based workshops, such as Mystery School and the Human Capacities Program. She is a graduate of University of Texas at Austin in Theater.
