In 1983 only three medical schools in the United States (out of a total of 125) would have anything to do with the role of spirituality in healing and health care. Currently, sixty medical schools in the country have developed formal courses exploring the relationship between spirituality, prayer and health. One of the people responsible for this phenomenal turnaround is the compassionate, revolutionary, and dynamic physician, Larry Dossey. Bio

Larry Dossey, M.D. is the executive editor of Explore: The Journal of Science and Healing, and served as co-chair of the Panel on Mind/Body Interventions of the NIH Office of Alternative Medicine.

He is the author of numerous articles and books, including:
