One of life's greatest pleasures is eating, according to Weil, who cuts through the national obsession with diet and weight like a knife through an overripe papaya. He points out the dark side of fad diets and unhealthy eating patterns while giving us life-enhancing and pleasurable eating options. Arguably the best known physician in the United States, Dr. Andrew Weil believes there "doesn't have to be a distinction between healthy food and pleasurable food.” His sensible advice stems from a belief in a natural, balanced approach to health and healing. "Food is a major connection between people—the act of sharing food is a fundamental human bond. If you go on a diet that separates you from other people or from your culture, you are sabotaging one of the very functions of eating," says Weil. Discover the latest findings on nutrition and healthy living with one of the most successful early point riders of alternative and integrative medicine in the world today. (hosted by Michael Toms)
