Andrew Harvey believes we are undergoing a revelation of consciousness about who Christ really was and what his message truly meant. Harvey makes an important distinction between Christ and other prophets: "Other teachers say 'This is the way you can get to the transcendent; here are the ways you can escape the illusion and horror of reality.' Jesus instead came right down into the terrible suffering and agony of the real world, to work there with ever greater intensity and ever more passionate abandon to love, ... creating the most terrifying challenge to human beings ever given by a teacher--for us to do the same." Bio

Andrew Harvey was raised in India and educated at Oxford. He is a renowned and distinguished mystical scholar, Rumi translator and explicator, poet, novelist, spiritual teacher and writer, and architect of Sacred Activism. He is also the Founder/ Director of the Institute of Sacred Activism.
