This 1983 Archive Edition with Jean Houston continues to remain relevant in today’s world. Here she suggests addressing global crises with both outward movement and inward journeys of transformation as we envision a new humanity. She asks the question of what would the world look like if people realized their true potential. Also included is the transformative power of human consciousness and the potential for a new Renaissance. She recounts her childhood experience in Catholic school, which sparked her lifelong quest for deeper understanding. Houston emphasizes the importance of diverse thinking and the need for educational systems to accommodate various learning styles and highlights the role of small, empowered communities in fostering human growth and addressing global challenges. Houston argues that we are in a period of immense possibility, driven by cross-cultural influences and technological advancements, and calls for a shift from a focus on crisis to one of creative, intentional community.
