Here in the United States we are at the epicenter of dramatic global changes politically and culturally. Is the turmoil in the Middle East and elsewhere a sign that things are spinning out of control? Have we in the west used democracy for our own purposes at the expense of other cultures and the environment? How can we as individuals have any influence on such momentous events?
