As an architect and designer it‘s Lawlor’s experience that physical forms frame portals to the vitality and inspiration of consciousness. He shares the idea that beautiful places remind us of those aspects of ourselves that we don’t usually access during the day. “Buildings and objects are the repositories of people’s energy. And so these objects psychically store our experiences and they’re there if we open up and access ourselves to them. And, it’s not something mystical, it’s being honest with what happened there.” He speaks of great buildings and great art as pointing to a field that brings us to an un-namable experience of the mystery of being alive. This far ranging dialogue takes us from our homes as a reflection of the quality of our consciousness to why skyscrapers and “McMansions” are giving way to the tiny house movement. From how can we avoid being hypnotized by our gadgetry to why great buildings have presence. (hosted by Phil Cousineau)
