In Charles Darwin's The Descent of Man, the term "survival of the fittest" appears twice, and one of those entries is an apology for the other. The word "love" appears ninety-five times. Darwin writes about moral sensitivity ninety-two times, and about mind and the brain two hundred times. With this discovery, Dr. David Loye identified Darwin as an early humanistic psychologist, and even finds a scientific foundation for the appearance of Jesus. And yet, this important part of Darwin's work remained hidden for more than one hundred years. In this deeper understanding of the work, Dr. Loye finds clues to solving the political, cultural, and environmental devastation he sees in the world today. He points to Darwin's insights and tells us, "What it is saying over and over again is, if we live by these precepts that come out of all this work - love, moral sensitivity, education - if we do all these things, we don't need more research. If we simply do all these things, we have a chance. If we don't, we're not going to make it. We're facing the wipe-out of our humanity." (hosted by Michael Toms)
