This still-relevant 1989 Archive Edition includes a provocative and challenging conversation with an anti-guru spiritual teacher who attracted attention principally because he claimed nothing, saying he has no answers for anyone. He argues that memory is distributed across every cell, not confined to the brain, and that experiences are framed by past knowledge. When asked to sum up his own teachings, U.G. replied curtly, "The phrase would be, 'I cannot help you!'" U.G. Krishnamurti (Uppaluri Gopala Krishnamurti) (1918-2007) was an Indian “anti‑guru” who rejected the entire project of spiritual seeking and described a spontaneous, painful “calamity” at age 49 that left him in what he called the “natural state.” Most of the books under his name are edited conversations and dialogues rather than formal teachings.
