We can appreciate the time tested and scientifically verified idea that evolution is happening at the level of the gene but is it also happening in culture and spirituality? Does the theory of evolution jump from the silo of science and dance with other disciplines? If so, how does it change our sense of ourselves, our concept of God, of consciousness, of technology, information and the world. Carter Phipps speaks to these questions and says, “Evolution has become the basis of very rich new forms of meaning and purpose and deep forms of spiritual and mystical revelation, as well as new forms in the way we understand God.” He suggests when we awaken to this evolutionary perspective and context we can feel a sense of possibility and creativity. Carter Phipps is an author, journalist and leading voice in an emerging field of evolutionary spirituality. He serves as a former executive editor of Enlighten Next Magazine and has been at the forefront of contemporary spiritual, philosophical and cultural discourse. His writings have played a key role in making important new thinking accessible to a wider audience.
