In today's hyper- paced world, we don't even allow ourselves enough time to digest our own thoughts. Dawna Markova calls it "mental bulimia--we acquire facts and spit them out. So there's not time for the brain to go through the incredible mental metabolism it is capable of to create new patterns." She teaches that all of us have a unique set of learning patterns based on the way we process information. Whether you're a verbal gymnast who's never been good at sports, or great at writing but paralyzed to speak in front of a crowd, it's because of the unique way your mind processes information. We know we are different; yet we are all expected to learn in the same way. Dawna Markova, known for her groundbreaking research in perception and learning, has revolutionized how we learn and her studies are impacting schools everywhere. (hosted by Michael Toms)
