Bio
Mark Hertsgaard, an independent, widely published journalist and an activist, until recently a visiting professor of non-fiction writing at Johns Hopkins, is the author of, among other works, the highly acclaimed Earth Odyssey: Around the World In Search of Our Environmental Future, and serves as the political observer for National Public Radio's Living On Earth.
Francesca Vietor, Director of the Department of the Environment for the City and County of San Francisco, previously President of its Commission on the Environment, has worked for several environmental organizations, including Rainforest Action Network, Greenpeace, Island Press and CARE Madagascar.
