Dr. Weil is way ahead of the times with this 1984 interview. The news in contemporary medicine is that we now have more choices than ever before in methods of health care. Western technological medicine, while offering the best in emergency treatment, does little for disease prevention, and is being challenged by alternative therapeutic systems such as homeopathy, chiropractic, naturopathy, and acupuncture, to name a few. Weil describes how his personal search for health led him to explore alternative medicine. In this energetic and enlightening discussion, he assesses the advantages and dangers of both allopathic medicine and alternative forms of health care, revealing the emotional power of medicine and the inner nature of healing. This conversation provides a most lucid and comprehensive overview of wellness. (hosted by Michael Toms)
