"What would it be like if our children grew up understanding that they brought a unique gift to the world, even if they didn't know what it was? What if they knew that their life was like a treasure hunt for that gift? That it was their responsibility to give it to the rest of the world, because the rest of the world needed it?" With these words Dawna Markova launches a movement to free parents from worrying about "fixing" their children's differences, and instead help their youngsters recognize the enormous value they have in the world, just as they are. It's a radical shift from our current standardized educational paradigm - and it's a joyous one. When a parent can step into the wonder of a child's mind, and help him/her discover the spot of grace that lies deep inside, a world of meaning and possibility is born. Dr. Markova's passion for her work radiates in this conversation that spans from her wondrous moments with her own grandchild to a career-altering moment of inspiration for a client C.E.O. She shows us how a simple shift in perspective can liberate all of us - and our children - to step into a new legacy for our future. (hosted by Michael Toms)
